Very Important Pet Parent Spotlight

Ann Evans & Dutch

Dutch PuppyWhat brought you to Florida?
I was raised here – Love living in Florida!

Have you always had pets?
This is my first Dog!

Please introduce us to your Fur Family. How did you meet and become FURever companions?
Dutch – our Chocolate lab – is almost 9 months now. My boyfriend wanted to name whatever dog we found, Dutch, and his name was already Dutch! He is from Indiana where my boyfriend is from so it was meant to be – the breeder delivered Dutch to his parents and he met them halfway to pick him up.

What do you love most about your pet?
I love how much he loves people (and other pups!) he’s very social. He gets so excited when he sees new people or dogs. He loves the beach and playing with friends there. One of his funniest quirks is when he barks at his reflection in the glass door at night – he thinks it’s another dog!

Walking DutchHow has 9 to 5 Pets made your life easier? What does your pet enjoy the most from our service?
We could not have gotten a puppy without 9 to 5 Pets. Well, we got him before I knew about 9 to 5 Pets but I soon learned that in order to work and have a puppy you need an incredible village to help and I discovered 9 to 5. We truly couldn’t do this without you. Thankful for the quality, personal service and how much your team loves Dutch.

What are your favorite activities you share with your pet?
The beach on weekends is definitely our favorite activity!

Share a fond memory with your pet:
First anything – first day at the beach, first time playing with puppy friends.

What life lessons have you learned from your pet?
Commitment and Scheduling! It’s a full time commitment having a dog and I love every minute but scheduling is key – making sure he’s in good hands and safe and sound at all times. Thankful for 9 to 5 Pets who help me and can accommodate last minute services as we figure out our routine.

If you had to wear a T-Shirt with one word on it for a year, what word would you choose?
Slow Down! (2 words but I want everyone to slow down – we’re all too busy!)

Dutch in BushIf you could instantly become an expert in something what would it be?
Dog training – he’s a good boy – but we still need to work on a few things! Our dog trainer is amazing but I need to work on implementing and being a better trainer.

What is the best gift anyone has ever given to you?
Time! In such a fast paced world- spending time with people is the best gift.
