Our pet care professionals go through a very thorough screening, vetting, and training process before they earn a spot on our team. We require stellar references, a clean background check, and Pet CPR, First Aid & Care certification.
Our pet care professionals also continue to grow their skills and knowledge base through an online training and education system we provide them which focuses on safety and handling, animal behavior, and health. At 9 to 5 Pets, we are committed to empowering our team in the field and keeping the pets we care for safe.
Hello! My name is Kathy Conowall and I am fortunate enough to be Jennifer Dew’s Mother. I am retired and find that continuing to build all forms of relationship is a sure way for me to know that I have purpose and growth going on in my life. From her first-grade longing to ride a horse to now, Jennifer’s passion for animals from all the Kingdoms of the earth has fed her character, her passion, and her virtue.
It is with great gladness that I am able to serve her company now, 9 to 5 Pets. I have watched the glory of this journey unfold and bring to each client’s much-loved family pet(s) the same devotion and care that Jennifer has taught me in her shadow. There is something about visiting your pet that is certain to add to my joy. It happened the first time I walked ‘solo’ and continues to happen to this very day. I can offer no less than you have so deservedly given your Fur Friend! You can be certain of abiding care from the collective commitment of your 9 to 5 Pets’ Team.
Hi! My name is Lora Frazier. I was born in Atlanta, but I have lived in Ponte Vedra since I was 4 years old. I graduated from Clemson University in 2018 with a degree in animal science. I have had dogs and cats my entire life and have also cared for bunnies, hamsters, snakes, chickens, and fish! I have also volunteered at the Jacksonville Humane Society raising foster kittens and puppies, and have some veterinary assistant experience. I joined 9 to 5 Pets because I love pets and this job gives me the opportunity to work with many wonderful cats and dogs. I am dedicated, responsible, and will work hard to ensure that your pets are safe and happy. I look forward to working with all of you and your pets!
Hi I’m Julia and I am thrilled to join the team at 9 to 5 pets. We are empty nesters and I help my husband run a business but have plenty of time to help my neighbors care for their animal friends when they cannot be there. We have been in Sawgrass Players Club almost 6 years, both of us born and bred New Yorkers. We raised 4 kids in Jersey and now have three grandkids ( and 3 grandpups). I had a corporate career a lifetime ago after college and have dabbled in many varied pursuits since both paid and volunteer, including substitute teaching, building with Habitat, guiding kayak tours and coaching youth sports to name a few.
My family has always had canine members. Currently we have a sweet old guy Redford, an English Shepherd who hails from a farm in Arkansas. He doesn’t look a day over 7 but is almost twice that! He is a very high energy breed that requires lots of exercise and mental stimulation so we get along great cause so do I! Originally from the Adirondack mountains, I love and even crave the great outdoors daily so I am looking forward to sharing walks and off leash adventures with your pets.
Hi! My name is Louanne King. I was born in Chicago IL but grew up in Louisville KY. I moved to Florida in 1993. I have lived in Ponte Vedra Beach since 2002 and currently live in Sawgrass.
I have been around pets all my life. We had dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, lizards, a beautiful thoroughbred horse and a hedgehog.
I am an RN and am currently working for a company that provides supplies for incontinence needs.
I would love a house full of pets but knew that wasn’t possible. So, I decided pet sitting would be a great option. I chose 9 to 5 because of Jennifer’s core beliefs and work ethic. It is a pleasure and joy caring for so many different animals and I look forward to working with all of you!
Hi there! My name is Lauren Thomas, and I am so excited to be a part of the 9 to 5 Pets family! I am a Jacksonville Beach local and currently a senior at University of North Florida earning my degree in Coastal and Marine Biology. I absolutely love living in North Florida surrounded by the beautiful scenery, fun events, and a close-knit community. I have lived in Florida for most of my life and feel so blessed to have been raised going to the beach and visiting state parks. I hope to continue to work with animals and wildlife in future careers and achieve a lifestyle where I can adopt and rescue many animals.
I also love spending time with my year-old Mini Australian Shepherd, Buoy. If I can take her with me, chances are I will! We love paddle-boarding, kayaking, and adventuring together! I also have a pet western hognose snake named Hog Solo (any Star Wars fans?). I am currently interning in the reptile and amphibian department at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Although I have not been fortunate to own a cat of my own, I spent a few years volunteering at the Catty Shack Wildlife Sanctuary, so I am comfortable and love working with cats of all sizes.
After working as a nanny for many years, I was able to explore my passion for working with the pets of the same families that I babysat for. As much as I love working with kids, animals will always have a special place in my heart. I was thrilled to be trusted by pet-owners to take care of their fur-friends. Pet sitting has also worked out better for my college schedule and I was so excited when close friend and teammate Sarah Hillon recommended 9 to 5 Pets to me. I love 9 to 5 Pets’ goal of giving pet-owners a sense of peace by providing compassionate caretakers and I am so honored to be a part of that mission. Regardless of furry, feathery or scaly, I will adore and take exceptional care of your cute companion! I am looking forward to meeting you and your pets!
Hello! My name is Alex Ossi and I am a 23 year old recent graduate from Florida State University. I am currently living with my parents here in Ponte Vedra Beach while I work to save money and build up my Real Estate career. I have lived in the same house in Ponte Vedra my whole life, apart from my four years at Florida State. I have always had a very strong connection with animals, having a few dogs, a cat, and a rabbit growing up. I find great enjoyment being around and caring for all animals, which is the main reason I am usually the go-to person for my family and friends when they need someone to take care of their pets. My family’s current pet is our beloved Jake, the 10.5-year-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. He has been the best dog we have ever had; he is such a sweetheart and loves to hunt lizards. We also had one yellow lab, and one black lab (who weighed 120lbs!) when I was growing up.
I have recently joined with Keller Williams at their Jacksonville Beach office and am in the process of building up my Real Estate business. It is a long and slow process, so I decided to earn money and fill up my free time with a second job. I discovered 9 to 5 Pets because I am great family friends with many of the current and past teammates, who have told me countless times how rewarding and great the company is. 9 to 5 Pets seemed like a perfect fit for me, with my strong desire to be reliable and my will to work, paired with my love for animals. I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon!
Hey everybody! My name is Connor Clark. I am currently attending the University of North Florida as a biology major. Right now, I am living in an off-campus apartment by the university so that I can get somewhat of that “college experience.” I moved to Jacksonville from a small town called Crawfordville in the panhandle by Tallahassee. I’ve lived in this area for a little over a year now.
When I have free time, I really enjoy reading, hanging out with my friends, and spending time with my cat Jezebel. My cat was a rescue from my previous job. She is fiesty and loves to boss me around.
My past experience caring for pets includes being a vet technician at Crawfordville Animal Hospital. I spent every day with hundreds of different cats and dogs helping them in a whole variety of different ways like giving them preventative vaccines, helping them feel better, or even just trimming their nails.
I have a genuine love for animals and it brings me pure happiness to help care for them which is why I was very interested in joining the 9 to 5 Pets Team. I would say my strongest attributes that make me unique are that I am able to form a special bond with any pet by just showing them unconditional love and respect. And even though they are not mine, I still treat them as my own. I promise I will give your animals my full commitment and love each and every time I see them because I want your fur babies to have the best experience they can have!
Hello! My name is Samantha Mayberry, and I just moved to Jacksonville Beach from Dunedin, FL! I grew up outside of Philadelphia, and graduated from West Chester University of PA with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2013. I enjoy cooking and baking, going to the movies, yoga, jogging, and spending time with my pets!
I spent the last six years teaching first grade in Dunedin, FL. Outside of teaching, I have worked with many wonderful Rover clients. I also volunteered at the Humane Society of Pinellas, working with cats and dogs. I have a crazy dog of my own, Marlie, and a cat named Calvin! I get such joy and fulfillment in caring for animals, and being of service to people.
As an animal owner myself, I know that pets are our fur-kids. Their care is of utmost importance to us! I look forward to getting to know you, and working with your furry friends!
Hello! My name is Gabi Cohen. I am a recent graduate from FSU. Go Noles!! I have a bachelors in Criminology and Middle Eastern Studies and a masters in Criminology. I have lived in Mandarin for most of my life.
Although I am an only child, I was the second kid! The first child was my doggy sister, she was an American Eskimo. Since 5th grade I have had a doggy brother. He is a Sheep dog Corgi mix, with the body and size of a sheep dog with the paws and snout of a corgi. He has the softest fur EVER!!! Not joking lol! He is now 14 years old!
I love all dogs and cats! I cannot wait to meet and care for your pets!
Hi! My name is Ella Christenson-Sullins and I’ve lived in Jacksonville all 22 years of my life. I’m a University of North Florida graduate with a bachelor’s in English and Film, minoring in creative writing. Since senior year of high school, I’ve worked as the poetry editor of Elan literary magazine and now the Talon Review. At UNF, my love for poetry grew and I discovered a love for film production, as well!
Pets have always been a major part of my life. I grew up with dogs of all breeds and sizes, lots of cats who are still hanging out with me today, and various reptiles and birds. We rescued every pet we’ve ever owned, so I have a lot of experience with caring for and being patient with special needs and elderly dogs and cats. I’m excited to work for 9 to 5 Pets because I get to turn my passion for animal care into a career. I can’t wait to form some great connections with you guys and your precious fur babies!
Hello! My name is Christina Crupi. I was born and raised in Ponte Vedra, and am currently a senior at Nease High School. Earlier this summer I was accepted to UNF as a psychology major (Go Ospreys!).
When not focused on my schoolwork, I love spending time with my friends and family, seeing movies, and volunteering at my school and S.A.F.E Pet Rescue.
Throughout my life I have owned 6 sweet cats and 1 very loving dog. In the past, I have pet sat for my grandparents who live right next-door to me, a couple of neighbors, and my best friend.
Once I discovered 9 to 5 Pets, I fell in love with the idea of being able to work for a company that will feel more like a privilege and less like a job. My attention to detail, love for pets, and my drive to work and be successful will allow me to take care of your house and animals like they are my own.
I am so excited to meet all the wonderful Nocatee and Beachwalk fur families!
Hi my name is Julia and I am originally from Massachusetts but moved here at such a young age that I would consider myself a local. We now live in Nocatee and I love how this community has incorporated all the parks and paths throughout the community to facilitate everyone’s activity. I now attend the University of North Florida and am majoring in Biomedical Science with the intent to go to medical school. I have always had an affinity for pets and 9 to 5 Pets has given me the opportunity to not only interact with pets of all shapes and sizes but also to build a relationship with the owners. I am a strong believer in honesty being the best policy and will always be as transparent as I can be with those around me. I am excited to be a part of this team and look forward to meeting all your fuzzy friends!
Hello! My name is Christine Escobar. I was born in England and was fortunate enough to have lived there for 10 years before my family and I moved back to the United States. I then lived 17 years in Maryland before marrying my wonderful husband. He was, and still is, active-duty Navy, so we have traveled (CA, FL, VA and Japan), but not as many times as the “norm”. I taught 4th and 5th grade for 7 years before becoming a mommy. We have 3 very handsome, very active and very unique boys (so I am very patient to say the least).
I have always had a love for animals! I grew up with cats, hamsters and guinea pigs in our household, but was around all kinds of animals! My husband and I have rescued our animals (a total of 6 cats and 2 dogs) and we currently have 19-, 7- and 3-year-old cats and my mom’s 4-year-old Maltipoo (my mom now lives with us).
I feel very blessed and honored to be working with the 9 to 5 Pets team! I get the chance to meet so many different families — 2 legged and 4 legged — and especially love the 4 legged! We moved to the St. Johns area at the end of the summer 2020 due to my husband’s last assignment before retiring from the Navy! Before then, we lived in Virginia where I looked after my 3 neighbors’ cats and dogs while they vacationed. While growing up, I would also house watch/pet sit for friends of my parents and also when I was babysitting. I am very excited to be helping your family by taking care of your fur babies!!!!!
Hello pet parents! I am incredibly excited to be joining Jennifer and her 9 to 5 Pets team! I was born and raised in Blagoveschensk, Russia. I ended up moving to Washington State in my teen years and decided to come down to Florida for the warm and welcoming weather. The Sunshine State is certainty where I belong!
I am currently enrolled at Florida State College of Jacksonville, pursuing my degree in Dental Hygiene. I have a passion for videography and take classes on the side. In my free time, I enjoy capturing moments through videos, art, practicing yoga, going to the beach, traveling, and living an active lifestyle.
I volunteered at a local humane society for a year, where I got the chance to foster kittens and puppies. I also worked with kids with special needs at Atlantic Coast High school and am actively participating in fundraisers towards childhood cancer.
I spent the majority of my childhood living on my grandmother’s farm, where I was surrounded by hundreds of ducks, chickens, pigs, goats, cows, and other exciting farm animals. Looking back has allowed me to realize that this was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had.
I also hold experience in animal sitting, dog walking, and house sitting. I was given the opportunity to frequently help out my neighbors all throughout high school.
Growing up, my family and I owned cats and dogs ranging from small to large breeds. These included chihuahuas, schnauzers, hairless Chinese Cresteds, and St. Bernards.
I am very fortunate to be able to serve this community and to share my endless love and care for all 4 legged fur babies. I believe that my range of experiences with animal care allow me to possess the necessary attributes to take care of your four-legged friend. I promise to provide you and your pet with the best care possible.
