Our pet care professionals go through a very thorough screening, vetting, and training process before they earn a spot on our team. We require stellar references, a clean background check, and Pet CPR, First Aid & Care certification.

Our pet care professionals also continue to grow their skills and knowledge base through an online training and education system we provide them which focuses on safety and handling, animal behavior, and health. At 9 to 5 Pets, we are committed to empowering our team in the field and keeping the pets we care for safe.

Kathy Conowall

Hello! My name is Kathy Conowall and I am fortunate enough to be Jennifer Dew’s Mother. I am retired and find that continuing to build all forms of relationship is a sure way for me to know that I have purpose and growth going on in my life. From her first-grade longing to ride a horse to now, Jennifer’s passion for animals from all the Kingdoms of the earth has fed her character, her passion, and her virtue.

It is with great gladness that I am able to serve her company now, 9 to 5 Pets. I have watched the glory of this journey unfold and bring to each client’s much-loved family pet(s) the same devotion and care that Jennifer has taught me in her shadow. There is something about visiting your pet that is certain to add to my joy. It happened the first time I walked ‘solo’ and continues to happen to this very day. I can offer no less than you have so deservedly given your Fur Friend! You can be certain of abiding care from the collective commitment of your 9 to 5 Pets’ Team.

Lora Frazier

Hi! My name is Lora Frazier. I was born in Atlanta, but I have lived in Ponte Vedra since I was 4 years old. I graduated from Clemson University in 2018 with a degree in animal science. I have had dogs and cats my entire life and have also cared for bunnies, hamsters, snakes, chickens, and fish! I have also volunteered at the Jacksonville Humane Society raising foster kittens and puppies, and have some veterinary assistant experience. I joined 9 to 5 Pets because I love pets and this job gives me the opportunity to work with many wonderful cats and dogs. I am dedicated, responsible, and will work hard to ensure that your pets are safe and happy. I look forward to working with all of you and your pets!

Darby Emery

Hello everyone! My name is Darby and I’m a senior studying multimedia journalism and social welfare at UNF. I grew up in Gainesville, FL, and left the nest to go to college in Jacksonville in 2018. I’m passionate about community engagement and am currently building a mentorship program between college students and at-risk high schoolers in Duval county through the UNF Honors college. I can usually be found writing, making short documentaries, or camping. I grew up in a very animal-friendly and nature-oriented home, with cats, dogs, turtles, a snake, parakeets, and chickens. After moving out on my own, I fostered cats from the Humane Society. My last foster cat, an injured but extremely affectionate 5-year-old tortie, became a ‘foster fail’ in 2020 and has lived with me ever since. I wanted to join 9 to 5 Pets to continue to have an outlet to take care of animals. It’s an incredibly special job to be trusted with other’s fur babies- one I’m committed to and excited for!

Louanne King

Hi! My name is Louanne King. I was born in Chicago IL but grew up in Louisville KY. I moved to Florida in 1993. I have lived in Ponte Vedra Beach since 2002 and currently live in Sawgrass.

I have been around pets all my life. We had dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, lizards, a beautiful thoroughbred horse and a hedgehog.

I am an RN and am currently working for a company that provides supplies for incontinence needs.

I would love a house full of pets but knew that wasn’t possible. So, I decided pet sitting would be a great option. I chose 9 to 5 because of Jennifer’s core beliefs and work ethic. It is a pleasure and joy caring for so many different animals and I look forward to working with all of you!

Lauren Thomas

Hi there! My name is Lauren Thomas, and I am so excited to be a part of the 9 to 5 Pets family! I am a Jacksonville Beach local and currently a senior at University of North Florida earning my degree in Coastal and Marine Biology. I absolutely love living in North Florida surrounded by the beautiful scenery, fun events, and a close-knit community. I have lived in Florida for most of my life and feel so blessed to have been raised going to the beach and visiting state parks. I hope to continue to work with animals and wildlife in future careers and achieve a lifestyle where I can adopt and rescue many animals.

I also love spending time with my year-old Mini Australian Shepherd, Buoy. If I can take her with me, chances are I will! We love paddle-boarding, kayaking, and adventuring together! I also have a pet western hognose snake named Hog Solo (any Star Wars fans?). I am currently interning in the reptile and amphibian department at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Although I have not been fortunate to own a cat of my own, I spent a few years volunteering at the Catty Shack Wildlife Sanctuary, so I am comfortable and love working with cats of all sizes.

After working as a nanny for many years, I was able to explore my passion for working with the pets of the same families that I babysat for. As much as I love working with kids, animals will always have a special place in my heart. I was thrilled to be trusted by pet-owners to take care of their fur-friends. Pet sitting has also worked out better for my college schedule and I was so excited when close friend and teammate Sarah Hillon recommended 9 to 5 Pets to me. I love 9 to 5 Pets’ goal of giving pet-owners a sense of peace by providing compassionate caretakers and I am so honored to be a part of that mission. Regardless of furry, feathery or scaly, I will adore and take exceptional care of your cute companion! I am looking forward to meeting you and your pets!

Alex Ossi

Hello! My name is Alex Ossi and I am a 23 year old recent graduate from Florida State University. I am currently living with my parents here in Ponte Vedra Beach while I work to save money and build up my Real Estate career. I have lived in the same house in Ponte Vedra my whole life, apart from my four years at Florida State. I have always had a very strong connection with animals, having a few dogs, a cat, and a rabbit growing up. I find great enjoyment being around and caring for all animals, which is the main reason I am usually the go-to person for my family and friends when they need someone to take care of their pets. My family’s current pet is our beloved Jake, the 10.5-year-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. He has been the best dog we have ever had; he is such a sweetheart and loves to hunt lizards. We also had one yellow lab, and one black lab (who weighed 120lbs!) when I was growing up.

I have recently joined with Keller Williams at their Jacksonville Beach office and am in the process of building up my Real Estate business. It is a long and slow process, so I decided to earn money and fill up my free time with a second job. I discovered 9 to 5 Pets because I am great family friends with many of the current and past teammates, who have told me countless times how rewarding and great the company is. 9 to 5 Pets seemed like a perfect fit for me, with my strong desire to be reliable and my will to work, paired with my love for animals. I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon!

Zoe Jowers

Hello! My name is Zoe Jowers. I am 20 years old and currently a junior at University of North Florida. Saint Johns County has been my home since I was born and my family has lived here for 50 plus years! It is a wonderful growing community and filled with the friendliest people. Besides school I spend a majority of my time with my friends, family, my boyfriend and last but not least my Boston Terrier; Winston. Throughout the years I have had the companionship of six dogs, two turtles, three hamsters and one lizard. I joined 9 to 5 Pets because I have always been passionate about the quality of life animals have and it is my promise to keep yours feeling all of the love!

Alessia Oliver

Hi! My name is Alessia Oliver (pronounced “A-Lee-C-uh”). I grew up in Missouri in the same house for 19 years. I recently decided to step out of my comfort zone and move to Florida. I really love going to the beach with my dog and playing fetch. I also love finding seashells. But what I really love are the opportunities I have to work with pets down here in Florida compared to the limited opportunities back at home. In Missouri I worked as a direct support staff for people with disabilities. I also loved to pet sit and help with drop in visits for my friends who had dogs. I have been wanting to work full time with pets but in my hometown we had no doggy daycares or in-home professional pet care companies. I believe 9 to 5 Pets is an awesome service that puts you and your pets first. It is also a team working together with all the same interests and love towards animals. I think the best thing about working with different animals is their personalities; because just like people, each animal has their own unique identity. I am currently going to college online and majoring in business and would love to get more education in a pet related field as well. I just can’t imagine my life not being surrounded by fur babies and I cannot wait to meet you and your four legged friends!

Gabi Cohen

Hello! My name is Gabi Cohen. I am a recent graduate from FSU. Go Noles!! I have a bachelors in Criminology and Middle Eastern Studies and a masters in Criminology. I have lived in Mandarin for most of my life.

Although I am an only child, I was the second kid! The first child was my doggy sister, she was an American Eskimo. Since 5th grade I have had a doggy brother. He is a Sheep dog Corgi mix, with the body and size of a sheep dog with the paws and snout of a corgi. He has the softest fur EVER!!! Not joking lol! He is now 14 years old!

I love all dogs and cats! I cannot wait to meet and care for your pets!

Ella Christenson-Sullins

Hi! My name is Ella Christenson-Sullins and I’ve lived in Jacksonville all 22 years of my life. I’m a University of North Florida graduate with a bachelor’s in English and Film, minoring in creative writing. Since senior year of high school, I’ve worked as the poetry editor of Elan literary magazine and now the Talon Review. At UNF, my love for poetry grew and I discovered a love for film production, as well!

Pets have always been a major part of my life. I grew up with dogs of all breeds and sizes, lots of cats who are still hanging out with me today, and various reptiles and birds. We rescued every pet we’ve ever owned, so I have a lot of experience with caring for and being patient with special needs and elderly dogs and cats. I’m excited to work for 9 to 5 Pets because I get to turn my passion for animal care into a career. I can’t wait to form some great connections with you guys and your precious fur babies!

Christina Crupi

Hello! My name is Christina Crupi. I was born and raised in Ponte Vedra, and am currently a senior at Nease High School. Earlier this summer I was accepted to UNF as a psychology major (Go Ospreys!).

When not focused on my schoolwork, I love spending time with my friends and family, seeing movies, and volunteering at my school and S.A.F.E Pet Rescue.

Throughout my life I have owned 6 sweet cats and 1 very loving dog. In the past, I have pet sat for my grandparents who live right next-door to me, a couple of neighbors, and my best friend.

Once I discovered 9 to 5 Pets, I fell in love with the idea of being able to work for a company that will feel more like a privilege and less like a job. My attention to detail, love for pets, and my drive to work and be successful will allow me to take care of your house and animals like they are my own.

I am so excited to meet all the wonderful Nocatee and Beachwalk fur families!

Julia Santos

Hi my name is Julia and I am originally from Massachusetts but moved here at such a young age that I would consider myself a local. We now live in Nocatee and I love how this community has incorporated all the parks and paths throughout the community to facilitate everyone’s activity. I now attend the University of North Florida and am majoring in Biomedical Science with the intent to go to medical school. I have always had an affinity for pets and 9 to 5 Pets has given me the opportunity to not only interact with pets of all shapes and sizes but also to build a relationship with the owners. I am a strong believer in honesty being the best policy and will always be as transparent as I can be with those around me. I am excited to be a part of this team and look forward to meeting all your fuzzy friends!

Christine Escobar

Hello! My name is Christine Escobar.  I was born in England and was fortunate enough to have lived there for 10 years before my family and I moved back to the United States.  I then lived 17 years in Maryland before marrying my wonderful husband.  He was, and still is, active-duty Navy, so we have traveled (CA, FL, VA and Japan), but not as many times as the “norm”.  I taught 4th and 5th grade for 7 years before becoming a mommy.  We have 3 very handsome, very active and very unique boys (so I am very patient to say the least).

I have always had a love for animals! I grew up with cats, hamsters and guinea pigs in our household, but was around all kinds of animals!  My husband and I have rescued our animals (a total of 6 cats and 2 dogs) and we currently have 19-, 7- and 3-year-old cats and my mom’s 4-year-old Maltipoo (my mom now lives with us).

I feel very blessed and honored to be working with the 9 to 5 Pets team!  I get the chance to meet so many different families — 2 legged and 4 legged — and especially love the 4 legged!  We moved to the St. Johns area at the end of the summer 2020 due to my husband’s last assignment before retiring from the Navy! Before then, we lived in Virginia where I looked after my 3 neighbors’ cats and dogs while they vacationed.  While growing up, I would also house watch/pet sit for friends of my parents and also when I was babysitting.  I am very excited to be helping your family by taking care of your fur babies!!!!!

Andrew Jenkin

Hello! My Name is Andrew Jenkin, I was born and raised in Michigan, but have been visiting family here in Atlantic Beach my entire life! It has always felt like my second home and I am very happy to be back here for an extended period of time!

After graduating from Michigan State University in 2014, with a degree in Advertising & Sales, I worked a number of sales positions before eventually deciding to follow my passions and move to California in October of 2017 to pursue a career in the film industry. I had the absolute time of my life, working on over 100+ productions, before eventually being sidelined by COVID. I decided it was time to be surrounded by family again and get back to some of my roots here in Atlantic Beach.

I have an absolute passion for adventure and the outdoors, and have boundless love for all pets and animals. 9 to 5 Pets seemed like the perfect fit to express these passions, and I am overjoyed to join the team! I couldn’t be more excited to meet all of you and your wonderful pets! See you soon!

Peggy Sammarco

Hello! My name is Peggy Sammarco and I am a mother of one fantastic son Michael. I lived in Jacksonville for 12 years and moved back up North to be with family for a couple of years. However my heart belongs here in Jacksonville! I moved down in March 2020 to Ponte Vedra working for Starbucks and absolutely love being by the beach. My next adventure will be to Nocatee.

In my free time I love to go to the beach and pet all the dogs I can, and find shark teeth. I love to ride my bike, spend time with friends, and I visit neighbors with dogs so I can give them treats and rubbins. I also like working on fundraisers for the military as last year I was privileged to work on a fundraiser for K-9’s For Warriors.

Pets have always been a part of my life. I grew up with Black Labs and an Irish Setter. When I moved out on my own I had a Doberman and lastly a Rhodesian Ridgeback and hound mix. My love for pets is energizing and it brings me complete joy to take care of them. I became a Certified Professional Pet Sitter 2 ½ years ago but have been caring for pets for many more years before. I am a responsible, organized and dedicated person who wants to share the love and kindness with your fur babies. I joined 9 to 5 Pets to follow my dream and passion to be a professional pet sitter and because of all the core values it stands for. My personal promise to you is to bring you peace of mind by cherishing your fur babies as if they were my own, to keep them safe and their tails wagging. I look forward to serving you!

Molly Gardner

Hi!… I’m Molly Gardner and I’m excited to join the 9 to 5 Pets team in the Mandarin area.  I grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore County, Maryland and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2008, after retiring from 25 years in law enforcement.

I have been involved in the sport of pure breed dogs for over 25 years.  Training and showing my dogs in Conformation, as well as training and competing in various AKC performance events.  I currently have three Briards, named Fern, Ivy, & Clover.  My Briards have earned AKC Championships and Grand Championships.  My dogs and I have also trained and competed, earning titles in various AKC performance events, including Herding, Obedience, Rally, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, Lure Coursing, & Fast CAT. I have also trained in Agility, Nose Work, and Therapy Work. To me, there is nothing more special than the bond and relationship you build with your dogs, through training and competing together.

Obviously, dogs have been my passion for many years, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others.  I belong to several All breed and Briard Dog Clubs.  I have also participated and assisted in several Rescue situations.

I have also cared for many friend’s Dogs, Cats, Sheep, Goats, Horses, Chickens, and a few fish.  Our pets are family, and I look forward to giving your pets the same love and attention I give my own.  I’m looking forward to meeting many new people in my Community, and helping to care for their beloved pets.

Mariah Miller

Hey There! My name is Mariah, and I am currently working towards my nursing degree at FSCJ, then I will transfer to UNF to finish my degree. When I’m not working or at school, I spend my time with my horse, Thumper. I enjoy riding out on trails, a good conditioning session, and teaching lessons the most. I also enjoy going to horse shows but since Covid, I haven’t had the opportunity to get there again.

I also have two huskies Dakota and Sage; they both have their own goofy personality. I like to take Dakota to the beach because he LOVES the water. Once we get in, we won’t be going home till he’s tired out. Sage is more of a grass explorer and lizard chaser, so she and I walk around the neighborhood till she’s ready to go home.

I’ve only lived in Florida for about 4 years now and I am happy to call it home. I grew up on a small farm in Beavercreek, Ohio. We owned many horses, three dogs, lots of cats, and six chickens. I learned very young that animals come with a good amount of responsibility, and I am grateful that I can share that knowledge when I have kids. I found 9 to 5 Pets at just the right time in my life and am so blessed that I get to add more animals into my daily routine.  Pets will always be an important part of my life! With that being said, I am excited to meet you and take care of yours!

Emily Delaere

Hi! My name is Emily Delaere. I was born and raised in St. Augustine. I have lived in this beautiful area my entire life. I am working toward my Associate in Arts degree at Saint Johns River State College. From there, I plan to enroll at a university and complete a bachelor’s degree in biology. I have been around animals my entire life. Growing up I had dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, horses, chickens, and geese. Being surrounded by animals influenced me to choose biology as my major. In my free time, I love to read, embroider, and cook. I also enjoy numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, tubing, fishing, and swimming. I joined the 9 to 5 pets team because I love working with animals. This job gives me the opportunity to bond and care for your pets. I’m excited to meet all of you and your fur babies!

Natalie Medina

Hello, my name is Natalie Medina. I am currently a student at the University of North Florida studying Finance. I am from Jacksonville and have lived here my entire life. However, my parents and extended family are from Argentina. All of my family, except my parents, live there. We take turns visiting each other when we can and they love the beach since there isn’t one close to where they live. I began caring for pets when I was in middle school for my neighbors when they would go out of town and then gradually worked my way up to professional pet care. I started my professional pet care career with my dog Koda, who I used to take care of on weekends for a coworker. These weekends turned into months and eventually forever when they decided they weren’t fit to care for him. He is now my emotional support animal and best friend! They recommended since I loved caring for him, to work in pet care professionally and I have been doing so for two and a half years. I’m excited to join 9 to 5 pets to meet more pet loving families!
