What brought you to Florida?
Some life changing events prompted us to look at moving to another state. A friend has family here and helped us find a new home. I had been a Controller for many years spending very long hours in an office. My husband had been the Maintenance Supervisor of a 23 acre outdoor mall. A little culture shock going from west coast to east and then complicated by Covid crisis hitting within weeks of our move.
Have you always had pets?
Yes, many over the years.
Please introduce us to your Fur Family. How did you meet and become FURever companions?
Maverick: 6.5 year old English Cream Golden Retriever. Loves everyone especially children and quite a talker.
Dexter: 2 year old Greyhound mix rescue. Belongs to our son who is currently serving overseas. So Dexter will be in our care for the next year plus. Dexter has some behavioral issues that we had no knowledge or experience of how to handle and I was recommended to Greg at Kamp K9 Jax Bch for help who then recommended 9 to 5 Pets. We are blessed to have both helping us and Dexter is coming along nicely.
What do you love most about your pets?
Both are very loving. Maverick is watchful of his stuffed toys and carries them to greet you or rescues them and brings them back in the house if Dexter takes them outside. Dexter lays on his back with his incredibly long legs straight up in the air. You can’t take your eyes off Dexter in the yard or he will dig a hole to China in about 10 seconds.
How has 9 to 5 Pets made your life easier? What do your pets enjoy the most from our service?
Dexter loves the Off Leash Adventures but also now loves the walks and is responding to the training not to react to others walking with or without their dogs.
What are your favorite activities you share with your pet?
Playing ball, grooming, and working in the yard.
Share a fond memory with your pet:
Dexter snorkels when in the water or he will just plop himself in a puddle.
Maverick running up next to a child and just sitting as still as could be in hopes of getting a pet on the head.
What life lessons have you learned from your Fur Family?
Still learning….breathe….& be calm!
